Which Tangem fee are you comparing?

Start with the action you want to take. Sending coins you already own, exchanging them for another asset and buying new coins have different cost structures. The price of the physical card set is another separate decision.

Action Cost to inspect Where to check
Send existing crypto Network fee; no extra Tangem send commission Final transaction preview
Swap one asset for another Provider quote and applicable network costs Swap screen and provider terms
Buy crypto with fiat money Payment provider’s quote Purchase checkout
Buy Tangem cards Delivered hardware price Card-set checkout

Tangem’s transaction-fee guidance confirms the standard-send policy. “No Tangem commission” does not mean a free blockchain transaction. This guide uses documentation checked on 26 October 2026 and hypothetical arithmetic; we did not execute a transfer, swap or purchase for this article.

A Bitcoin send: work through the numbers

Suppose your transaction needs 141 virtual bytes, and the example fee rate is 12.5 satoshis per virtual byte. Multiplying gives 1,762.5 sats. Rounding upward to a whole satoshi gives 1,763 sats, or 0.00001763 BTC.

At an assumed Bitcoin price of $100,000, the dollar equivalent is about $1.76. None of those inputs is a live quote or a recommended rate. A different transaction size changes the result even at the same rate.

Example rate, same 141 vB size Rounded fee At an assumed $100,000/BTC
5 sat/vB 705 sats $0.71
12.5 sat/vB 1,763 sats $1.76
30 sat/vB 4,230 sats $4.23

Try your own assumptions in the free Bitcoin fee calculator. It needs a rate and virtual size; a total fee displayed in BTC is not a sat/vB rate. Use the satoshi converter when you only need to translate a total between BTC and sats.

A fee estimate cannot promise a deadline. Bitcoin Core’s estimation documentation describes an approximate rate for a confirmation target and uses BTC per 1,000 virtual bytes. That is a different unit from sat/vB, and it does not establish which estimator Tangem uses. Our Bitcoin fees guide explains transaction size and the unit conversion.

Swapping: compare the amount received

Tangem’s in-app swaps use exchange providers. Their costs depend on the route, so a single advertised “Tangem swap fee” cannot describe every trade. Compare the same input amount and asset pair, then inspect the expected output and any separately payable network charge.

The official swap help distinguishes centralized and decentralized providers. It also explains that slippage concerns changes in execution price; it is not just another fixed fee. A failed decentralized swap can still incur a network charge. Read the chosen quote before approving.

Buying: compare the full purchase quote

For a fiat purchase, payment method, currency, asset and country can affect provider charges. The buying-crypto help directs users to the current provider quote. Compare the total money paid with the crypto you expect to receive, using the same currency and payment method.

Buying elsewhere and withdrawing to your wallet is another route, but include both the exchange’s buying cost and its withdrawal charge. Neither route is automatically cheaper. Do not use the standard-send policy to estimate a card purchase or exchange withdrawal.

Check the final send before approving

Tangem’s sending instructions describe a transaction preview with fee options. Review the destination, network, amount and fee there. A faster setting is a target, not a delivery guarantee. Keep enough balance for the displayed fee and check that the recipient receives the intended amount.

If you are still choosing hardware, our Tangem Wallet review compares two and three cards, recovery arrangements and phone-based transaction checks. It contains disclosed referral links. Buying another card set does not remove blockchain fees; choose the backup arrangement separately from the cost of your next transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Does Tangem charge a fee to send Bitcoin?

Tangem says it adds no commission to standard sends. You still pay the Bitcoin network fee shown before approval. A swap or purchase is a separate service with its own quote.

Is the Tangem Bitcoin fee a percentage of the amount sent?

A Bitcoin network fee is based on transaction space and a fee rate, not simply a percentage of the BTC amount. The app's final estimate matters because the wallet must construct the transaction.

Why can a Tangem swap cost more than a simple transfer?

A swap uses an exchange provider. Its quote can include provider charges and network costs; inspect both the amount you give and the amount you receive. The standard-send commission policy does not make swapping free.

Can I calculate the exact fee here before sending?

No. Our calculator multiplies the rate and virtual size you enter. It cannot inspect your Tangem wallet or construct its transaction, so confirm the actual amount and fee in the app.
