Satoshi conversion questions

How many satoshis are in one bitcoin?

One BTC equals 100,000,000 satoshis. Satoshis are a smaller unit of bitcoin, not a separate asset.

Where does the dollar value come from?

It uses the BTC price you enter. The starting price is an example and does not update with the market ticker.

Does the conversion include fees or exchange spreads?

No. It converts units using your entered price. A wallet transfer or exchange can add network fees, service charges or a different execution price.

Why can a dollar-to-bitcoin conversion differ by one satoshi?

Satoshis are whole units. When a dollar amount does not map to an exact whole satoshi at your entered BTC price, the tool rounds to the nearest satoshi.
